Valerie

I'm so happy that my friend Shelley and I were able to see Valerie Harper as Tallulah Bankhead, opposite Chad Allen, in the Pasadena tryout of the play "Looped" in 2008. It's a modest play but truly laugh-out-loud funny, and Valerie really was dazzling as the great, bawdy Tallulah. It was the acting challenge of her life and she had a ball. She was later nominated for a Tony for her performance. Nothing else to say but wish her all happiness and to say thank you for indelible work, and for showing us that laughter and pain are inextricably bound and that to let go of the former is to give in to the latter.
